GLHF’s Wisconsin Bleeding Disorders Conference Hosted a Great Weekend of Education, Connection and Community

Bringing Families Together for a Weekend of Learning and Connection.

More than 55 families from across Wisconsin gathered at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells for GLHF’s 2026 Wisconsin Bleeding Disorders Conference. The weekend offered opportunities to learn, share experiences, and engage with others across the bleeding disorders community.

Throughout the conference, attendees participated in dozens of educational sessions covering a wide range of topics, including treatment advances, physical wellness, advocacy, relationships, self-advocacy, and peer support. At the same time, more than 50 children and volunteers took part in dedicated youth programming, including an off-site experience at Upham Woods Outdoor Education Center, where participants built friendships, gained confidence, and created lasting memories. While education is a core part of the conference, attendees consistently shared that meeting others with similar experiences is what makes the weekend most impactful. One parent reflected:

“Connecting with people we’ve met here has greatly boosted my child’s confidence and made her feel so much more comfortable with her diagnosis. She looks forward to this conference and camp all year long. As a parent, the programming has given me so much information about what her diagnosis actually means and, more importantly, real-life advice for coping with obstacles.”
