WHO Walks Back Comments on Asymptomatic Spread of Coronavirus
On June 8th, The World Health Organization released a statement saying that people who have COVID-19 but are asymptomatic only spread the virus in “rare” instances. On June 9, after a forceful reaction from many public health experts, they clarified their comments and noted that the statement did not represent a new direction or policy. Coronavirus remains highly infectious irrespective of the presence or absence of symptoms.
