Rest in Peace, First Lady

The hemophilia community mourns the passing of Suzanne Massie, age 94, arguably the “first lady” of hemophilia. She and her former husband Robert K. Massie wrote the book Journey, the first book about hemophilia for patients and families. Journey detailed their experiences raising their son Bobby in the 1960s. Suzanne was an expert on Russian history and culture, and served as advisor to President Ronald Regan on Russia. She founded The Firebird Foundation in St. Petersburg, Russia to help children with hemophilia in Russia. Read more here.
