HANDI Highlights Resources for Historically Underserved Population

October HANDI Highlights is dedicated to an historically underserved group within the inherited bleeding disorders community – women, girls, and people with the propensity to menstruate (WGPPM).

While awareness of these populations has increased in recent years, they continue to be underserved in terms of timely diagnosis and management.

Access this new edition of the highlights for information relevant to symptom recognition, screening, and treatment in WGPPM. It also contains specific guidelines for pregnancy and the perinatal management of women with inherited bleeding disorders, including hemophilia carriers.

For those new to HANDI Highlights, it is a monthly communication designed to connect the bleeding disorders community with practical and readily accessible resources. The September edition was dedicated to back-to-school resources for students, families, and school personnel.

Next Up – NBDF’s November issue we will feature resources that speak to von Willebrand disease.

In the meantime, visit NBDF’s publications homepage to access a full list of resources. Go to the HANDI homepage to learn more about our information service and read choice answers to frequently asked questions about hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, and other inherited bleeding disorders.
