Women in Bleeding Disorders Visibility Series – Madison

In recognition of Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month this March, GLHF is hosting a special dinner and documentary series for women and girls living with bleeding disorders.
The reality can no longer be dismissed…
- 93% of women report feeling dismissed when seeking medical care
- 54% experience delayed diagnoses because their concerns were not taken seriously
- 47% have had to see multiple doctors before finally being heard
- 20% of girls with heavy periods may have an undiagnosed bleeding disorder

Join us in Appleton, Brookfield, or Madison for a shared meal and a screening of the 45-minute documentary Dismissed, which explores the systemic dismissal of women’s health concerns and the lasting impact it has on diagnosis, trust, and care. Following the film, we will hold space for meaningful discussion and participate in a hands-on give-back activity, assembling period packs with menstrual supplies and educational resources.
This program is for women and girls. We recommend ages 12 and older however, anyone who has begun menstruating and is starting to become more independent in their healthcare is welcome to attend. Whether you are newly diagnosed, still searching for answers, or supporting a daughter navigating heavy periods, this space is for you.
