Wisconsin Bleeding Disorders Conference

June 7 | 5:00 pm June 9 | 12:00 pm

Register here for before May 5, 2024!

Each year Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation hosts the Wisconsin Bleeding Disorders Conference for individuals and families living with a bleeding disorder. The weekend provides an opportunity to attend educational sessions presented by experts, meet with health care and industry professionals, and form important connections with peers affected in Wisconsin.

CONFERENCE PROGRAMMING

The weekend begins on Friday evening at a welcome reception from 5-7 p.m. and continues Saturday with a full day of educational programming. Special programming will be provided for youth ages 7-15, and child care will be available for kids ages four to six during Saturday programming. Sunday morning, grab breakfast and tune into one of several industry symposium offerings.

Please carefully account for each child in youth programming on your registration. We carefully plan programming and supervision based on a ration of registered children in advance. We can not accommodate any day-of registrations for youth programming (ages 4-15).

Children ages three and under are welcome to attend programming along with a caretaker, or GLHF will assist with accommodations to bring along an additional caretaker. This is only for families with children three and under. Please contact Kailee 414.937.6784 or kfrederick@glhf.org for special permissions.

NEW IN 2024 – FAMILY MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Is it your first time, or fourth time attending the Wisconsin Bleeding Disorders Conference? What did you wish you knew your first time at the WBDC? Get to know other families coping with a bleeding disorder, by volunteering for the WBDC family mentorship program. Help new families take advantage of the wealth of information and educational opportunities throughout the weekend. Participating families will attend a dinner networking event on Friday (6/7) from 6:00-7:30 pm where they will connect with their match and learn more in depth about the weekend.

Please indicate on your registration if you are interested in participating in the family mentorship program at the Wisconsin Bleeding Disorders conference. Families will be notified if they are matched by May 15. One adult from each mentor family will need to attend a 30-minute training via Zoom prior to the WBDC. More information will be sent via email.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The conference will take place at the Kalahari Resort in the Wisconsin Dells.

REGISTRATION

The family (4 people)/individual registration fee of $200 includes….

  • One hotel room (additional charge for guests beyond four, $25 per person) on Friday and Saturday nights
  • Four waterpark passes (Friday-Sunday admission)
  • Conference programming for adults (16+) and youth (ages 7-15), child care (ages 4-6)
  • Meals (Saturday breakfast, lunch and gift card for dinner; Sunday breakfast).

This special conference registration rate is for individuals and families living with a bleeding disorder and their household only. You must receive care at a Wisconsin HTC or reside in Wisconsin to attend. If you need assistance with the fee, please read the special instructions below. GLHF does not want the cost of registration to be a barrier to attendance.

The actual cost of the weekend is $2,000 per family of four, making this special rate of $200 contingent on attendance at conference programming. Adults and youth who do not register, or attend programming do not qualify for Saturday or Sunday meals and will be taken into account for future attendance at the conference. If you need assistance with the fee please see the special instructions below before registering online. A minimum payment of $20 is required to hold your reservation and sustain the future of this special program.

ONE HOTEL ROOM PER FAMILY

Exceptions will be made if…

  • Persons with bleeding disorder and immediate family members in household exceeds six person limit
  • At minimum, 6 people (between the two rooms) must be registered for and attending conference programming

If you qualify for a second room, please contact GLHF at 414.937.6784 to validate and receive a special code to register with.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

We understand that families have different abilities to contribute to GLHF education and programs. Our goal is to ensure that Wisconsin families impacted by a bleeding disorder, or receiving care from a Wisconsin Hemophilia Treatment Center, who would like to participate in this educational conference have the opportunity to do so.

Because of this, we do offer financial assistance with the registration fee. BEFORE registering online please write a thoughtful statement (50 word minimum) telling us why you would like to participate in GLHF’s WBDC and/or what you hope to gain from the experience. Turn in your written statement to kfrederick@glhf.org. We will contact you soon after with more information about how to to register by May 5.

COVID-19 POLICY

GLHF is not requiring proof of vaccination, or negative test to attend the Wisconsin Bleeding Disorders Conference. While masks are not mandated at the Kalahari at this time, we reserve the right to require all conference attendees to wear masks throughout the conference space at any time depending on mask mandates, speaker preferences, room capacities etc.

Stay home if someone in your household becomes ill. Contact GLHF at 414.937.6784 as soon as you are able to cancel and receive a refund. No call, no shows will not receive a refund.
